St Martin de Belleville is delighted to announce its selection for ‘Gastronomic Resort’ in the World Snow Awards, presented by The Telegraph Ski and Snowboard. The winners will be announced on 27 October 2016.

The Gastronomic Village of St Martin de Belleville
One of five ski resorts in the ‘Gastronomic Resort of the Year’ category, St Martin de Belleville is the only French ski resort to be shortlisted. St Martin de Belleville is a picturesque, Savoie mountain village, nestled within the heart of the 3 Vallees. You can ski right into the centre of the village, in fact, nearly into the church, and last year some 12 million euros was spent on a new express, covered chair, which means those first lifts of the day are toasty warm rather than bone tingling cold. For over 30 years St Martin has been offering an exceptional ski area and now its gastronomic history is gaining as much of a reputation as its ski area.
Stephanie Cardon from the St Martin de Belleville tourist office comments, “It is an honour to have our village nominated in this gastronomic category in this seasons snow awards. We are small in size but our village has a wonderful and widely known reputation for its fine cuisine.”

The 3 Michelin Star La bouitte
La Bouitte, the resorts 3 Michelin star restaurant and the highest 3* restaurant in Europe, also celebrates its 40th birthday this season. Father and son duo owners, Rene and Maxime Meilleur, have made La Bouitte a leader in mountain cuisine.
Chantacoucou and La Trantsa, two local farms in St Martin de Belleville open their doors this winter offering a ‘farmhouse restaurant’ at Chantacoucou, in the Chatelard hamlet, serving local products. La Trantsa weekly ‘trantsa’ tastings offers guests who snow-shoe to the farm, a Belleville speciality made from ‘serac’ skimmed milk, cheese and rye bread along plus they can buy the farm’s Tomme cheese and ewe’s milk yoghurts.
Continuing the gastronomic experience, our Alpine Club chefs are preparing for the winter season and we are delighted to announce we once again have some of the finest chalet chefs in the alps, with experience in Michelin Star and AA Rosette restaurants. To whet your appetite, here are some photos of what you will be enjoying at The Alpine Club this winter from our chefs Jake Corbishley and Daniel Jones.
